Interfine costs $12 a year, about half the entry price of DistroKid, TuneCore and Amuse, and you can start with just $2 and pay the rest weekly or monthly. It’s the easiest way for a new artist to get music on Spotify, Boomplay, Apple Music and TikTok.
Price is only part of the story. If a distributor can only pay you through PayPal or a US bank, transfer fees and currency conversion eat into what you receive. Interfine pays to M-Pesa, local banks, Payoneer and PayPal, registers your songs with African collecting societies, and answers you on WhatsApp.
DistroKid is a popular global distributor. Its Musician plan costs $24.99 a year, more than double Interfine’s $12. Interfine also gives you M-Pesa payouts, instalments from $2, African publishing registration, WhatsApp support and a team in Nairobi.
TuneCore’s Rising Artist plan costs $24.99 a year, with a 20% fee on social platform earnings. Interfine costs about half as much upfront and is built around African payouts and platforms.
Amuse no longer advertises a free plan. Its Artist plan costs $23.99 a year and charges a 15% fee on YouTube Content ID earnings. Interfine is about half the price, offers instalments from $2 and pays to M-Pesa.
RouteNote’s free plan keeps 15% of your royalties and isn’t built around African artists. Interfine gives you M-Pesa payouts, African publishing registration, YouTube Official Artist Channel requests and WhatsApp support, all for $12 a year.
Yes. Interfine costs $12 a year (or start from $2) versus $24.99 for DistroKid’s Musician plan, and it adds M-Pesa payouts, African publishing registration and WhatsApp support.
Interfine Music pays to M-Pesa, as well as bank transfer, Payoneer and PayPal.
Yes. Release your music on Interfine using the same ISRC codes, wait until it is live, then take it down from your old distributor so you don’t lose streams or playlist placements.
