Our Story
Interfine Music was founded by Levis K and Laban Maloi with a shared vision: to build a music distribution platform that puts African artists first.
Interfine Music began with a shared frustration and a simple belief: African artists deserve better.
Before Interfine Music existed, our co-founder Levis had a firsthand experience that would eventually inspire the company. He was working with an international music distribution company that had recently entered the Kenyan market. After showing interest in one of his label’s artists, the company promised global reach, fair royalties, and professional support.
With excitement and trust, Levis signed the deal and transferred his catalogue. But soon after, things changed. Communication became difficult, accessing royalties became a challenge, and getting meaningful support felt almost impossible.
The experience was frustrating, but it raised a bigger question: How many other African artists were going through the same thing?
That question became the beginning of an idea.
Levis shared his vision with Laban, a fellow music and marketing professional who understood the challenges artists face beyond simply making music. Together, they began exploring what a better music distribution company could look like — one built around transparency, accessibility, reliable support, and a genuine understanding of African artists.
That vision became Interfine Music.
What started as a conversation between two people grew into a mission to build a platform where African artists could distribute their music, access their earnings, and get the support they deserve without feeling overlooked or disconnected.
Today, Interfine Music stands for transparency, trust, and empowerment. We are committed to making music distribution simpler, payments more accessible, and support more responsive for artists across Africa.
