Our Story
Our journey began with a personal experience that turned into a mission to transform Africa’s music landscape.
Before Interfine Music existed, our founder Levis worked with an international distribution company that had just entered the Kenyan market. They showed interest in one of his label’s artists and promised global reach, fair royalties, and professional support. With excitement and trust, Levis signed the deal and transferred his catalogue to them — but soon after, communication broke down. Royalties became difficult to withdraw, and support was almost impossible to reach.
The frustration was real. But instead of giving up, Levis turned that challenge into inspiration. He began to imagine how many African artists were silently facing the same struggles — locked out of their own earnings, unheard, and unsupported.
That’s when the idea for Interfine Music was born.
Levis first shared the vision with Silas, his label partner, who immediately believed in the mission. They then brought in Maureen, whose vast knowledge in finance helped structure a solid foundation for fair payments and sustainability. Later, Laban, who deeply understands marketing and artist relations, joined in to help shape the brand and connect it to artists across the continent.
Together, they became the co-founders of Interfine Music — a company built for African artists, by Africans.
